If you have a need for speed, head to the Texas Motor Speedway. A lively destination, it's where you can watch professional races, ride go-karts, and even enjoy a camping weekend. Here is some of what you can discover at this NASCAR track near our Dallas Uptown apartments:

Track Tour

For a behind-the-scenes look, enjoy a track tour. It's offered Wednesday through Friday at select times. You'll see the pit road, the Lone Star Tower, the Speedway Club, and much more. The fun starts at the Speedway World Gift Shop, where you can buy shirts, hats, and other items.

NASCAR Racing Experience

Offering hair-raising fun, the NASCAR Racing Experience is not to be missed. After a briefing from the crew chief, you'll get behind the wheel of an authentic NASCAR race car for timed racing sessions. A spotter will offer one-on-one instruction over a two-way in-car radio. You can even pass other drivers, and for every eight minutes of track time, you'll take a short pit stop.

Lone Star Kartpark

At the Lone Star Kartpark, you'll find the fastest, most intense go-karts in Fort Worth. You'll drive around some thrilling turns as you try to cross the finish line first. To race competitively, join one of the track's leagues. They offer a fun way to meet new friends as you bring out your inner race car driver.

Camping

Whether you have an RV or a classic tent, the Texas Motor Speedway features several campgrounds across its 1,500-acre facility. You can pitch a tent outside gate 3. This area features bathrooms and showers, tram pickup/drop-off, and easy access to the 7-11. Tent camping costs $75 on the weekends. Be sure and reserve your spot in advance.

Of course, the Speedway also hosts NASCAR events and auto auctions, so keep an eye out for events scheduled at this Dallas track.
